Pamela Anderson Goes Makeup-Free for Paris Fashion Week

Pamela Anderson has slowly traded her signature look of penciled-on skinny brows and a sultry smokey eye for a much less time-consuming makeup look – nothing at all. The blonde bombshell showcased her bare face and natural hair at none other than Paris Fashion Week. In a video for Vogue France, Anderson talks candidly about her spontaneous decision to go makeup-free. She explains that she did not arrive at Paris Fashion Week planning to not wear makeup, but instead made the spur-of-the-moment decision because it felt right.
As Anderson prepared for the Vivienne Westwood show, she told Vogue France, “Something kind of came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought ‘I don’t want to compete with the clothes.’ I’m not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room.” The actor and writer then revealed she was fresh out of the bath with air-dried hair and only moisturizer on. Anderson does not have a glam team or stylist and prefers to use her own creative vision.
Anderson’s makeup-free status has garnered plenty of attention in the past couple of weeks, but Anderson herself said she was not going makeup-free to make a statement, but rather as an “experiment” towards loving herself and her age. As someone whose entire career was once built off of physical beauty, Anderson takes quite the brave stance by challenging society’s beauty standards.
She has single-handedly rebranded herself as a woman of elegance and compassion ever since her Netflix documentary, Pamela, a love story, which details her personal life in a way nothing has before. Anderson was able to showcase her raw emotion during this film and continues to let the world see the beauty behind the face. Skipping makeup these days has only empowered Anderson more, as she says, “I feel like it’s freedom, it’s a relief.”
