Square Magazine Staff Picks: Our Signature Fragrances
Square Magazine Staff Picks: Our Signature Fragrances
By Ava Rosetti — April 23, 2025
Perfume is special. It allows us to each individually pick out a scent that communicates aspects of our identities. Similar to how we choose our personal style for the day or even what playlist we want to listen to, perfume is a way to reflect your personality and your mood. Perfume can hold memories and transport us back to when we wore certain scents. Choosing a signature scent is special because it becomes an extension of who you are and how you want others to perceive you. While it could change from day to day, having a signature scent can help express who you are and allow you to carry a sense of comfort and familiarity everywhere you go. Here are some of Square’s signature scents and what makes them so special to the team.
Gage Hillman, Business Team: MOD Vanilla + Santal 33

Hillman prefers his signature scents because the two create a vanilla base with sandalwood notes. Combining dark plum, musk, and pink freesia, Ariana Grande has created MOD Vanilla to be expressive and vibrant. The addition of Santal 33 adds comforting notes to the mixture.
Demi Grauer, Social Team: Gucci Bloom
Grauer describes her favorite scent as light, floral, and clean. Gucci describes Gucci Bloom—one of their most feminine and top-selling perfumes—as “entering a garden of dreams” with notes of jasmine and tuberose.
Dabney Flynt, Social Team: Burberry Goddess

Flynt describes her signature fragrance as a subtle vanilla scent. Burberry’s first refillable perfume can be described as combining rich vanilla and luminous lavender.
Mailynn Nguyen, Social Team: Nightcap by Orabella
“For me, Nightcap smells like a creamy vanilla tea, with hints of ginger and sandalwood. I discovered it through suggestions from PerfumeTok on TikTok first, and then went to Ulta to smell it, and instantly fell in love! A lot of the people who like Orabella perfumes are fans of the unique packaging because it looks like the dragon egg from ‘Dragon Tales,’ a kids' TV show from back in the day. I agree, the packaging is so elegant, and it lasts all day. I feel like it's more sophisticated than other perfumes, as I tend to stay away from flowery ones. I like to pair it with "supermilk" from Lush, which is a hair conditioner that also has cream notes but with some lemon pie elements. Nightcap doesn't include any alcohol in the formula and has an oil base, which makes it special to me. You have to shake it to "activate" it, and I love having it stick to every surface of my bedroom to make it feel cozy,” said Nguyen.
Emma Williams, Editorial Team: Mugler Angel Nova
Williams describes her favorite scent as clean and bold. Mugler describes Angel Nova as alluring and feminine with notes of Mugler rose.
Suzie Brown, Creative Team: Nemat Musk Amber

“It smells clean and warm. I like it because it’s pretty neutral and wearable for everyday, and it just makes you smell good. Also, it lasts literally all day long. I put it on in the morning and still get compliments on how I smell by the end of the day,” said Brown.
Audrey Cooper, Editorial Team: Dossier Ambery Vanilla or Woody Sandalwood

“Ambery Vanilla is the perfect mix between a masculine and feminine scent. The amber feels homey, and the vanilla is warm. It feels like a good hug from a familiar friend. I like Dossier scents because they linger throughout the day and are a reasonable price. If I’m wanting to add a little spice to my day, then I use the woody sandalwood, which is so fresh and clean and smells like luxury,” said Cooper.
Brooklyn Hoffman, Editorial Team: Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede
Hoffman chose her signature scent because she loves the uniqueness of Jo Malone’s fragrances. Jo Malone describes their Peony and Blush Sage scent as an exquisite floral scent with honey accents.
