10 Memorable Fashion Moments From 2025
By Madeleine New — December 16, 2025
As the year comes to a close, let's take a look back at some of the most iconic style and pop culture moments of 2025.
Zendaya’s Engagement Reveal at the Golden Globes
2025 started strong at the Golden Globes in January. Demi Moore stunned in Armani Prive, and Ayo Edebri wore a Julia Roberts-inspired Loewe. However, the most viral moment of the night was Zendaya effortlessly breaking the news that she and Tom Holland are engaged, debuting a 5-carat diamond ring on the red carpet.
2. Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
February was all about Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show. Not only did he perform his famous Drake diss track “Not Like Us” on the nation’s largest stage, but he also included Americana imagery, political statements, and guests such as Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and SZA. Kendrick wore an iconic, custom diamond-covered lowercase “a” necklace and Celine flared jeans that had everyone talking.
3. The Oscars
As always, one of the most impressive nights of the year for fashion was The Oscars in March. Some of the most reposted looks from the event included Timothée Chalamet’s monochromatic butter-yellow Givenchy suit, Ariana Grande’s sculptural Schiaparelli gown, Zoe Saldaña’s custom Saint Laurent look, and Hollywood’s newest red-carpet darling—and first-time Oscar winner—Mikey Madison’s classic Dior dress.
4. Rihanna’s Pregnancy Reveal at The Met Gala
This year’s Met Gala theme was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which was an ode to the importance and impact of Black dandyism. Most guests did not disappoint, with some of the biggest successes being Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Lauryn Hill, Jenna Ortega, and A$AP Rocky. Oh, and speaking of A$AP Rocky, Rihanna used the Met’s red carpet to show off her baby bump, revealing the power couple’s third pregnancy.
In June, the fashion world was shocked when Anna Wintour announced she was stepping down as editor-in-chief of Vogue after 37 years. While Wintour remains involved in other ways, she passed the editor-in-chief title onto 40-year-old Chloe Malle.
6. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Engagement
The summer ended with Taylor Swift announcing via Instagram the news that fans everywhere were waiting for: she and NFL player Travis Kelce are engaged. The post quickly became one of the most liked in the history of the platform, the Ralph Lauren dress she was wearing sold out in days, jewelers and bridal experts weighed in on the unique ring, and fashion designers began to theorize about her wedding looks. If the engagement post had this effect, the internet may not be ready for the wedding next year.
7. The Return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
Oct. 15 was the night of the year for many fashion and pop-culture lovers, as the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned to its full, glamorous, nostalgic, 2000s glory. Though many stars showed up on the pink carpet, the real stars were sporting wings and blowouts on the runway. Fan favorite VS Angels and supermodels appeared on the runway, including Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Barbara Palvin, Emily Ratajkowski, Alex Consani, Gigi Hadid, and (newly blonde) Bella Hadid.
Just days after the VS runway show, the next big thing that fascinated everyone took place: thieves stole priceless jewels from the Louvre in Paris. Everything about this event had people talking: the cartoonish costumes (which served as great Halloween inspiration), how they were able to achieve such a crime in broad daylight, and, of course, the beautiful jewels and accessories that were stolen. The Louvre heist really proved that 2025 was the year in which accessories captivated the world, from little Labubu dolls to historical empresses’ diamond tiaras.
9. The Wicked: For Good Press Tour
Many of this year’s most glamorous looks did not come from awards season, but rather from Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo once again becoming the pinnacle of glamour in their Glinda and Elphaba-inspired looks. The co-stars showed up to premieres and events in everything from archival dresses and couture gowns to custom sets. Truly, the best part about both Wicked movies has been the impeccable fashion of the two leads.
10. The Chanel NYC Subway Show
For his first Métiers d’Art show, Chanel’s new creative director Matthieu Blazy brought his vision to a New York City subway platform. The collection showcased every kind of Chanel girl, with casual outfits, classic tweed sets, sequin gowns, and supermodel Alex Consani in a double-breasted pinstripe suit. Models filtered in and out of subway cars and a crowded platform. The show was the most creative, glamorous, and instantly iconic way to end the year.
After such an exciting and stylish year, 2026 can not come soon enough!
