While most major trends can be traced back to the runway, some of the most popular styles come from the streets outside of the shows and on the backs of our favorite celebrities. This year was full of headline-worthy street style moments that continue to inspire us in our own sartorial choices.
1. Pink everything at Fall 2023 Couture shows in Paris
The summer of Barbie was a pop culture phenomenon like no other, as was the fashion inspiration that was caused by the film and its stars. The streets of Paris were lined with pink all throughout the fall couture shows this year, each individual putting their own spin on the color of the summer.
2. Jacob Elordi proves that handbags can be masculine
Jacob Elordi cemented his star status this year, through his performances in Priscilla and Saltburn and his take on street style. The newly minted style icon made waves in the world of fashion as he showed off his extensive designer handbag collection, proving that men can utilize and style the accessory just as gracefully as women.
3. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce flaunt their new relationship in style
No relationship has seen more buzz this year than Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. The two have stepped out in style on more than one occasion, both in outfits that show off their takes on the latest trends.
4. Elevated minimalism at New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week was all about simple elegance this year, with attendees seen in a myriad of black and white outfits. The simple color scheme did not equate to boredom; many chose to experiment with different silhouettes and accessories to create interest in their minimalistic looks.

“Quiet luxury” has been one of the buzziest styles defining 2023. Jennifer Lawrence is no stranger to this style philosophy, seen on a stroll through New York City in a classic trench coat over a simple t-shirt and trousers with a sweater tied around her shoulders.

This year we have seen a revival of numerous traditionally feminine style motifs, with pieces like ballet flats, tulle skirts, and bows coming back into the fashion landscape. Attendees at London Fashion Week showcased their appreciation for these classic pieces, pairing them with strong tailoring and neutral colors to maintain sophistication.
8. Kendall Jenner sports the “pop of red” styling trend
Early this fall, cherry red became the undisputed color of the moment. Stars like Kendall Jenner styled outfits with a pop of red to create dimension and embolden otherwise simple outfits.
9. Fall 2023 menswear show-goers pair shorts with winter looks
This year’s menswear shows were lined with attendees in coats and winter accessories paired with shorts of all styles. While not necessarily the most practical choice for colder weather, shorts with outerwear adds a hint of playfulness to even the most reserved outfits.

Everyday fashion seems to be all about achieving the model-off-duty aesthetic these days, and those in attendance at Milan Fashion Week understood the assignment. The aesthetic is all about chic simplicity which is best demonstrated by the models themselves.

Between planning the most talked about wedding of the year and working on collaborations with brands like David Yurman and Djerf Avenue, Sofia Richie Grainge still managed to impress with her street style looks. Among the glitz and glamor of her public life as a major fashion influencer are casual looks like this one where she proves that you can still never go wrong with a classic white t-shirt.
12. Jeremy Allen White takes a casual approach to fashion
Jeremy Allen White is no stranger to stardom, having spent a decade of his early career starring on hit show Shameless which leaves us to wonder how White managed to only to recently emerge as a prominent style influencer. White takes a nontraditional approach to high fashion, often seen in rumpled clothing, but still always maintaining an air of cool confidence.
13. Hailey Bieber shows how to be sporty in style
Not many do street style as well as model and entrepreneur Hailey Bieber. Although many know about the beauty trends she has cultivated, her style is just as influential. This spring, Bieber headed out for the day in a mini skirt, sneakers, and an oversized sporty jacket. The look is athletic and classy, a seamless duo that anyone with as much style sense as Bieber could achieve.
14. Matilda Djerf styles moto boots for a casual day out
Anyone who follows fashion trends has probably looked to Matilda Djerf for inspiration at some point or another. Putting her own spin on the moto trend, Djerf styled tall motorcycle boots with baggy denim shorts and a simple cream sweater, staying true to the minimalistic Scandinavian style for which she is known.
15. Paul Mescal steps out in short shorts
Dubbed by GQ the “king of internet boyfriend style,” Paul Mescal continues to make headlines for his outfit choices. Seen here on a casual stroll in London, Mescal’s short shorts and Clairo hoodie combination nearly broke the internet as fans admired both his confident style and athletic build.
While we all love to watch the latest runways and red carpets, there is no better place to look for style inspiration than the streets walked by our fellow fashion-lovers. Only time will tell how these trends will evolve in 2024, but we certainly look forward to seeing who makes fashion headlines in the coming seasons.
