If Carrie Bradshaw had a dose of Southern charm and a trucker hat, she would be Briley King. King has a funky and unique sense of style that many could only dream of pulling off.
She married blues singer Marcus King in 2023 and quickly became accustomed to life on a tour bus. King never knew when she was going to be able to wash her hair next, and according to her, this is when trucker hats became her staple. Now, she is known to pair them with almost every outfit, no matter how dressy or casual.
Her trucker hat line, Little Bird Trucking, began as an ode to her dad who was a long-haul trucker when she was growing up. As a self-proclaimed “daddy’s girl” and someone who grew up being taught the values of hard work and dedication, it’s only appropriate that King handmakes each and every one of her Little Bird Trucking hats; sometimes more than 200 a day. Each of her hats have a unique feather and name inspired by the titles of her husband’s songs. Post Malone has rocked a Little Bird hat on many occasions, including at the SNL 50th Anniversary Homecoming Concert.
As the wife of a blues singer from South Carolina and a North Carolina native herself, King is no stranger to what it means to be from the South. Just by looking at her outfits, you can tell that she takes great pride in where she is from, and she has popularized the aesthetic of Southern class mixed with New York street style.
King quickly emerged as a style icon on TikTok because of her unique outfits and relatable personality. She is also known for her uber-cool outfits with pops of color. She refers to them as, “...things that should not go together.” Nonetheless, it works!
While Briley King has built her reputation as a fashion icon, she has more talent than just knowing how to dress. You can hear her harmonizing behind Marcus King on his hit “Delilah,” which he brings her out to sing at almost every show.
The Kings are no strangers to Oxford, as Marus King played the Double Decker Festival in 2023 and the couple attended the Ole Miss vs. UGA game in 2024. Marcus King will be back to play at the Lyric on April 24, and many fans are just as excited to see his wife and style icon, Briley King.
