Markarian Fall 2023 Ready-to-Wear

By: Aliza Warner

In one of the final shows in this year’s New York Fashion Week, Markarian displayed their latest fall ready-to-wear collection, presenting the looks in a beautiful, naturalistic floral backdrop. After their presentation, Markarian posted on their Instagram that for this latest collection, they wanted to create the essence of “a bygone New York era,” which they have excellently achieved. The collection overall had a classic and timeless feel with touches of glamorous elements.

The use and incorporation of embellishments, patterns, and embroideries can not go unnoticed, bringing almost every look an exquisite uniqueness. Many designs include jeweled lining and shapes, floral and plant-like patterns, and even the incorporation of floral fabrics as additional pieces to an outfit.

A cool, slightly darker color scheme embodies this collection, ranging from neutrals to colors like red, blue, maroon, purple, and green. The colors combine to create an air of elegance throughout the looks.

Of course, a perfect fall staple is a coat, and this collection shows a creative take on the classic piece. The coats’ designs excite the eye, whether it is the detailed embroidery, jeweled embellishments, or strong silhouettes.

The evening wear throughout the collection shines beautifully and is incredibly diverse. Mini dresses, draping sleeves and tails on the gowns, off-shoulder dresses, two-piece styling, sparkling suits, and fun added-on elements of feathers and ruffles all add to the uniqueness of the pieces. Evening wear may sometimes be simplified to a suit and gown, but this collection shows that is not always the case.

Creating a timeless feel requires unique touches to provide a new perspective, and Markarian creates an elegant ambiance in their latest collection that is authentic to their brand in every piece.
