Miu Miu Spring 2027 Ready-to-Wear Collection
Miu Miu Spring 2027 Ready-to-Wear Collection

If it’s odd, it’s Miu Miu. Miu Miu presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection on October 4 at Paris Fashion Week. It was beautiful, deliberately imperfect, and chic. The collection, “Here and Now,” featured plenty of plaid and subdued tones.
The collection itself was oddly luxurious. Miuccia Prada has a keen eye for combining ordinary, everyday clothes, such as track pants, pleated skirts, and sports bras, with traditionally elegant pieces, such as tailored blazers and cocktail dresses.
The skirts were particularly important. Gone are the ultra-short Miu Miu minis that have dominated the brand over the seasons. Instead, some skirts came down closer to the knee. They still had that unmistakable schoolgirl, preppy quality, but they felt more grown-up and slightly awkward.
While skirts were longer and more traditionally modest for this collection, Prada did not make them conservative. She paired them with sneakers, sporty pieces, unexpected lacing, and abbreviated tops.
Sportswear received the same treatment. Athletic pieces were stripped of their usual casual context and placed alongside more traditionally glamorous clothing. Running sneakers appeared with feminine skirts, while sports jerseys and track pants were styled with polished tailoring. The effect was not quite “going to the gym,” and not quite “going to a cocktail party.” It was somewhere in between — the increasingly familiar reality of getting dressed in 2026, when a woman might wear her sneakers with a skirt and call it an outfit.
That tension between girlhood and adulthood ran throughout the collection. There were hints of the schoolgirl, the athlete, the socialite, and the downtown girl, all existing within the same wardrobe.
A glittering bra top could be paired with a casual skirt. A tailored jacket could be worn with track pants. A glamorous dress could be finished with a running shoe. The woman wearing Miu Miu does not have to decide which version of herself she wants to be.
The casting reinforced the collection’s refusal to fit neatly into one category. Gigi Hadid and Emma Corrin walked alongside Olivia Colman, who made her runway debut for the show.
Hadid closed the show in one of its most memorable combinations: a fitted, athletic-looking top, a crystal-covered skirt, and brightly colored sneakers. It was almost absurd, but in the very specific way that makes Miu Miu work. Glamour, athleticism, and awkwardness were all allowed to coexist.
But perhaps the most interesting question surrounding the collection is whether Miu Miu can still be considered rebellious. Prada has spent years making “ugly,” things desirable — awkward shoes, school uniforms, low-rise skirts, ordinary clothing, and intentionally imperfect styling. The problem is that everyone now understands the formula. What was once strange has become the blueprint for contemporary fashion.
