Diane von Furstenberg x Target
Diane von Furstenberg x Target

Target’s latest designer collection was released in stores and online on March 23. The limited-edition collection is in collaboration with Diane von Furstenberg, a Belgian-born designer best known for sensationalizing the wrap dress in 1974 with her eponymous brand.
DVF x Target hits all of the key motifs for the label: bold patterns, wrap styles, and bright colors, as well as reintroducing beloved archive patterns. Designed with von Furstenberg’s granddaughter Talita, the Target line is intended to be multi-generational and celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic wrap dress.
The signature dress was once just a wrap top inspired by the cardigans worn by ballerinas, paired with a skirt or pants. After von Furstenburg changed the design to a dress, their popularity catapulted, and by 1976 one million dresses were sold. Von Furstenberg has described the dress as cultivating “personal freedom.” It offered stylish comfort that worked for women’s bodies, not against them.
Target’s designer collaborations have a high rate of success, with the goal being to make iconic designer pieces accessible at a lower price point. After five decades of the iconic DVF wrap dress, which now retails for over 300 dollars, this line will be available for purchase at Target with dresses in the 50-dollar range.
Diane von Furstenberg for Target is available in extended sizes as well as youth sizes. There is a wrap dress for everybody – whether you are new to the brand or a loyal DVF fan. Shop the collection in stores or at Diane von Furstenberg for Target.
