St. Patrick’s Day Guide: How to Wear Green

By: Briley Rakow

The perfect St. Patrick’s Day outfit can feel daunting to find, especially if green is not in your typical color palette. A festive holiday look does have to mean a costume or glitter; there are plenty of ways to wear green this St. Patrick’s Day while still looking classy and fashion-forward.

Keeping It Casual

If St. Patrick’s Day is just another casual Thursday for you this year, try out a muted pair of green jeans or a patterned sweater paired with your go-to denim. A long-sleeve mini dress is another great way to switch up your typical on-the-go look while embracing the spring weather.

Lucky Accessories

Green can be an overwhelming color, but in small doses, it can add the perfect pop to your St. Patrick’s day look. Add a pair of green heels or a bright handbag to your outfit for a more understated holiday feel. If you are wearing an all-green look and want the accessories to match, try a light pair of acrylic hoops or some dark green sunglasses to pull everything together.

For the Work Day

St. Patrick’s Day does fall during the workweek, but green is a fun way to make business casual feel a little more festive. This Zara blazer paired with a neutral pant or skirt will have you looking professional and fashionable. You could also try a more neutral green button-up to pair with any brighter accessories.

Hitting the Town

If you are planning on going out for St. Patrick’s Day and want the perfect outfit to stand out in the crowd, a monochromatic sweater set may be the way to go. For a dressier look, a cute mini or midi-dress like this one will take your holiday night to the next level.

No matter what your plans are for St. Patrick’s Day, there are ways big and small to incorporate green into your outfit this year. For more holiday outfit ideas, keep reading umsquaremagazine.com and follow us on Instagram @um.squaremagazine
