Trends We Are Taking Into Fall

Trends We Are Taking Into Fall

By: MC Middleton

As summer fades away, we are left with the question: what styles are we bringing into fall? This fall, we revisit old favorites and introduce new trends perfect for the upcoming season.

Light Neutrals

The rules banishing white after Labor Day are archaic. Take your white, ecru, and cream colored pieces into the next season by pairing them with cozy knits, structured blazers, and simple tops to create effortlessly clean looks.

Loafers

Equal parts preppy and cool, lug-soled loafers are on their way to being an instant classic. A chunky shoe anchors an outfit, and loafers are sophisticated while also offering practicality and comfort.

Knee High Boots

With Western wear ushering a shorter cowboy boot back onto the scene, we are sure to see a revival of knee high boots paired with mini dresses and skirts.

Mini Skirts

In the wake of the Y2K revival we saw this summer, mini skirts are making their return yet again. In sporty, preppy, and mod-inspired variations, the mini skirt is a staple that can be styled endlessly well into the season and paired with tights as the temperature drops.

Tailoring

The blazer never left and it is here to stay. This season, we will see tailoring including oversized blazers, skirt suits, trousers, and waistcoats. Tailoring pieces adds sophistication to outfits by providing structure and clean lines. Blazers and trousers mix well with soft textures and casual silhouettes to create  a laid back look, and two-piece suits are eternally chic.

Layering Pieces

Our forever favorite, the white button down , pairs with basic tanks, graphic tees, over dresses, and under jumpers. Cardigans, sweaters, vests, and vintage sweatshirts add dimension to an otherwise simple outfit and can be shed when a fall heatwave inevitably hits.
