What’s in My Zara Cart?

What’s in My Zara Cart?

By: Isabelle McLeod

A favorite and least favorite pastime of mine is browsing the Zara website. We all love the clothes, the high-end fashion photographs that catch our eye, but at the end of the day it can be difficult to imagine myself on a runway with wet hair. Oh? You too? Well, lucky for you I made it my j-o-b job last week to find the best of the best on the website right now. And thus begins our journey to show you what is in my Zara cart!

Outfit 1: For Dreaming of Social Summer Activities

You can find me at most hours of the day fighting my internal battle to wear something besides denim and black. And in more of an effort to prove you can never go wrong with this pairing, I found the perfect fit! A black ribbed halter tank to carry you through hot summer days, with vintage-inspired high-rise jeans, and pearl slides to give you a touch of elegance. This look to me is classy enough to wear to brunch with your grandmother but cool-casual enough to down a PBR at your friend’s cookout an hour later. Tuck the tank into your jeans, grab your slides, throw your hair into a bun, and voila!

Outfit 2: For Singing, Sweating, and Shopping

I have actually added this dress to my cart the past three times upon browsing the Zara website. Anywho, this is the effortless outfit I was envisioning wearing to Double Decker this spring. And perhaps I can still swing it in the scheduled dog days of summer? Midi dresses are my love language and the floral pattern only makes my heart flutter more. Add the knock-off-but-cheaper-than-Nike AF1s to dress it down and you're ready to walk around the square a couple of times, buy a cute mug you don’t need, and listen to some nice music.

Outfit 3: For a 30 Minute Wait on the Square

This is the kind of outfit I would wear to a friend’s birthday dinner or dare I say on a date! These pieces are easy for the spring and summer and can transition from the day time to night. I think the knit top and the denim shorts keep you comfortable, while the frilled sleeves and silver slides add a dressier touch. I would put on some gold jewelry, red lipstick, and pray you either get a piece of cake or a kiss.

Outfit 4: For a House Party or a Self Timer Photo Session

Ladies, this is the outfit we have been building up to. You may be a bit nervous, a bit skeptical, but I believe in us and we can do this together. Maggie Rogers described her style as, “a mix between a space cowgirl and a San Francisco art teacher,” and I have yet to relate to anything more. This is a fun fit to wear to an event--perhaps a party or a concert. I would wear the slip dress with the sweater over it, unbuttoned, and these wonderfully chunky sandals to help you take over the world.

Thank you for following along my Zara cart journey, and I look forward to us meeting again soon. Mwah!
