Your Guide to Feeling Confident, Stylish, and Professional For Interview Season

By: Alyssa Moncrief

With the excitement of summer approaching and finals looming, internship interview season also makes its descent. Interviews are more competitive than ever, and it feels increasingly important to get the perfect position to set yourself up for success post-graduation. This can seem scary, but half of the solution is confidence. To prepare for your interview and appear cool, calm, and collected, choose the perfect outfit ahead of time to exude confidence, professionality, and determination to get. that. job.

Putting the perfect look together starts with the basics. Stores like Zara, J. Crew, and Target sell sleek, classic pieces like blazers and slacks in dozens of colors and patterns that will make you stand out to your prospects. Besides, nowadays you aren’t just looking for your mom’s straight-leg slacks. Flare leg trousers, silk blazers, and bright colors are all available, on-trend, and great options to wear.

If girly silhouettes and dresses are more your style, opt for fitted pieces that are classic but trendy. In skirts or flowy blouses, bold prints like leopard or zebra can show off your personality to interviewers or potential employers in a fun way.

Styled with a statement earring or headband, even a midi skirt can be professional and put together.

Many interviews or even jobs, are being held on Zoom or similar platforms, which may not require that you wear a full head-to-toe professional outfit. Work-from-home style can still be fun, however. Check stores like Target, and even Old Navy, for tops and outerwear that are chic and professional, but they won’t break the bank.

Good luck this upcoming interview season and be sure to check back for more style tips from our team!
