By Audrey Cooper — December 12, 2024
With the holiday season in full swing, it is the perfect time to get together with friends and family and celebrate with yummy seasonal mocktails (or cocktails for those over 21). Guaranteed to set the mood for any holiday occasion, here are some of our favorite seasonal sips.
1. Pom-Lime French 75
This firecracker drink is a fun gin-based champagne cocktail that features hints of lemon. The ingredients include gin, sparkling wine, fresh lemon juice, pomegranate-lime syrup, lime twists, and sprinkles of pomegranate seeds.
2. Spiked Hot Chocolate
A fun take on hot chocolate, this one is especially tasty when made with bourbon. Ingredients include your favorite cocoa powder or chocolate, milk of choice, dark chocolate chips, your go-to bourbon, crushed cinnamon sticks, toasted marshmallows, candy canes, and whipped cream for garnish.
3. Classic Espresso Martini
Whether you are at a chic cocktail party or cozying up by the fire around friends, an espresso martini is perfectly stylish and delicious for any occasion. Ingredients include vodka, espresso, coffee liquor (we recommend Baileys or Kahlua), ice, coffee beans for presentation, and, for a seasonal twist, a touch of nutmeg on the top or crushed candy canes around the rim.
4. Old Fashioned
This timeless classic is perfect for those who prefer a slow-sipping drink to savor during holiday festivities. For ingredients, you will need your favorite bourbon, simple syrup, bitters, and a large ice cube. For garnish, add an orange crisp, rosemary sprig, or a cinnamon stick.
5. Cranberry Margarita
This drink adds a festive twist to a beloved classic, and with its ruby-red coloring, it is perfect for evoking hues of Christmas cheer. Ingredients include blanco tequila, cranberry juice, lime juice, simple syrup, fresh cranberries, and lime for the finishing touch.
6. Eggnog
An all-time seasonal favorite, this recipe is the perfect go-to for any seasonal occasion and pairs well with dessert. Ingredients include four to eight eggs separated, granulated sugar, whole milk, heavy cream, your liquor of choice (brandy, rum, or bourbon), vanilla extract, and freshly grated nutmeg for the top.
7. Cranberry Moscow Mule
Add a fruity twist to the refreshing zing of a classic mule with the Cranberry Moscow Mule. This drink is an amazing touch to your holiday activities. Made with vodka, ginger beer, lime, cranberry juice, fresh mint leaves, candy canes, and fresh berries to garnish.
8. Dirty Martini
Be sure to chill your martini glasses, and grab your favorite vodka, vermouth, and a jar of green olives (which just so happen to be green and red.) Combine the vodka, vermouth, and olive brine and garnish with skewered olives.
9. Sparkling Cranberry Prosecco
This yummy drink is so simple and easy to make and perfect to pair with Christmas breakfast. All you’ll need is your favorite prosecco and cranberry juice. If you’re feeling fancy, garnish with cranberries, pomegranate, mint, or lime wedges.
10. Christmas Punch (mocktail option)
This fun drink is filled with oranges, pomegranates, and cranberries. You can either keep it non-alcoholic or add rum or vodka. You will need cranberry juice, orange juice, pomegranate juice, lemon-lime soda, and ice with rosemary to garnish.
11. Pomegranate Mojito
This drink is gorgeous with its bright red color and is delicious to enjoy year-round. To make it, you will need fresh mint leaves, simple syrup, lime juice, white rum, pomegranate juice, and club soda. Add fresh-cut limes and mint sprigs to garnish.
12. Peppermint Martini
This drink is refreshing with a pinch of peppermint and cream, combining peppermint and chocolate liquor. To make it you need white creme de cocoa, heavy cream, peppermint vodka and plain vodka, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract. Use crushed candy canes to decorate the rim of the martini glass.
13. Apple Cider Spritz
The apple cider spritz is a wintry switch-up on the summery Aperol spritz but with yummy tangs of fresh-cut apples. Ingredients include apple cider, Aperol, Prosecco, a splash of soda water, a dash of cinnamon, and thin-cut apple wedges.
14. Chocolate Martini
This cocktail’s sweet, chocolatey notes make it the perfect dessert drink. To start, garnish the glass with chocolate syrup both in the glass and on the rim. Then, freeze your glass. To make the cocktail, combine need Bailey’s Irish creme, chocolate liquor, and vodka. Add a candy cane and shaved dark chocolate for extra holiday feel.
