15 Shows to Binge During the Holidays
By Campbell Bensley — December 11, 2025
With the stress-inducing days of finals thankfully over, the holidays are a perfect time to slow things down, relax, and binge-watch a new series. Here is a list of some of the best shows to dive into this holiday season.
1. Stranger Things
With the release of the much-anticipated fifth (and final) season dropping throughout the holidays. “Stranger Things” is the perfect way to get a healthy dose of '80s nostalgia and supernatural weirdness, while also finally seeing the conclusion to a story many of us have followed for nearly a decade.
2. The White Lotus
Part murder mystery, part dark comedy, “The White Lotus” offers beautiful settings and the messiest characters possible, creating one of the most interesting and binge-worthy series out there.
3. Severance
With a critically acclaimed first and second season, and a third on the horizon, “Severance” delivers a unique, mind-bending premise paired with a fantastic visual style that makes it one of the most compelling series on TV.
4. The Bear
One of the most hyped shows of the year, “The Bear,” is the perfect holiday catch-up. It’s a heartfelt series with exceptional acting, and it is perfect for anyone looking to tap into their softer side during the holidays.
5. Fleabag
Packed with dark humor and plenty of emotion, “Fleabag” delivers great entertainment in just two short seasons, making it an easy and satisfying binge for anyone.
6. Adolescence
One of the breakout shows of this year, “Adolescence” is a heavy yet deeply compelling story that sticks with you long after you’ve finished it. Each episode is filmed as a continuous shot, never cutting, creating what may be some of the most impressive technical feats any show has ever pulled off.
7. Industry
Following the lives of young finance workers in London. “Industry” is equal parts ambitious, unhinged, and morally questionable. If you’re into all the drama, this one’s for you.
8. True Detective
With each season serving as its own isolated story, “True Detective” is the perfect series for any true crime fanatic. Season one is widely considered one of the best crime dramas ever released. Exceptional acting and perfectly crafted environments make this a series worth diving into.
9. Normal People
If you are looking for something slow, grounded, and emotionally exhausting, “Normal People” might just be for you. A show that almost feels a little too real, this may not be a “fun” binge, but Connell and Marianne will linger in your mind long after the final episode. Perfect for the long, cold days of Christmas break.
10. House of the Dragon
Political beef, family drama, and dragons, honestly, what more could you ask for? A great series for anyone looking for lots of action. The “Game of Thrones” prequel “House of the Dragon” will certainly keep your interest—so long as you are willing to keep up with its layered, often frenetic pace.
11. The Sopranos
“The Sopranos” blends New Jersey mob drama with some of the best character work you’ll find in a series. Spanning six seasons, it’s definitely a big commitment, but for those willing to invest the time, it’s one of the most rewarding shows you’ll ever watch.
12. The Haunting of Hill House
Beautifully shot and incredibly eerie, “The Haunting of Hill House” is a perfect pick for those looking for something a little spookier during the holidays.
13. Ozark
One of the most easily bingeable series you’ll find, “Ozark” has a high-stakes storyline that makes it hard for the audience to look away. If you like morally gray characters and a great slow build, you should definitely give this series a chance.
14. The Last of Us
A post-apocalyptic journey filled with interesting characters and a unique setting. “The Last of Us” delivers an emotional story with brilliant acting. If you want to see some zombies, give this one a try.
15. Midnight Mass
A perfect series for those quiet winter nights, “Midnight Mass” definitely has the spooky factor. A psychological and supernatural horror story that explores some pretty heavy themes, it’s definitely a slow burner, but the payoff is worth the wait.
