7 Winter Drinks to Try in Oxford

One of the best ways to get into the holiday spirit is sipping on a festive drink. Oxford has a variety of options to quench your thirst this season. From coffees to cocktails here is a roundup of seven winter drinks you must try this winter in Oxford. 

1. Lost Dog’s Specialty Drinks of the Week

You will definitely want to make the drive to Taylor, Mississippi to visit Lost Dog Coffee Shop this season. The charming shop has eclectic yet comforting decor that will be sure to keep you company while you sip on one of their weekly specialty drinks - past have included the cinnamon roll latté and winter mint mocha. 

2. Byrd House’s Peppermint Mocha 

Oxford’s newest health foods café, Byrd House, has been all the rage this year. If you have yet to visit, take a stop in this winter season and try out their peppermint mocha. It is made with raw cacao, maple syrup and peppermint, giving you the perfect flavors of the season with some much needed caffeine.  

3. First Watch’s Cranberry Crush 

For a refreshing choice this winter, pair your brunch at First Watch with this drink. Cranberry, lemon, fuji apple, and cinnamon blend perfectly together for a crisp sip. 

4. Lulu’s Iced Coffee 

The latest buzz in Oxford is Lulu’s Iced Coffee. Created by Oxford Canteen’s owner and named after his great grandmother, Lulu, this drink is made with New Orleans coffee and Chicory cold brew which is steeped for 24 hours. It is then mixed with sweetened condensed milk - a Vietnamese technique. It is mixed with low-fat milk and served chilled. You can find Lulu’s at the Chicory Market, Oxford Creamery, BTC, Good Day Cafe, Sola, Grit and at PODS around campus. 

5. Specialty Drinks from Common Ground Coffee Bar

Common Ground Coffee Bar has several seasonal drinks, add a few examples here. Stop in and ask the barista about what is being offered! 

6. Byrd House’s Apple Cider 

Byrd House has lots to offer this holiday season. As the weather in Oxford begins to hit low temperatures, you’ll want to stop in and grab a hot cup of apple cider to keep you warm while you walk around the square.

7. Yugo’s The White Mountain Cocktail 

If you are 21 or older, Yugo is serving up winter cocktails this season. Their menu this season includes the White Mountain Cocktail. Saké, peach, and lime are a few of the ingredients in this drink, along with a perfectly rimmed glass to finish it off.
