Bring Summer Energy to Your Spring Semester

Bring Summer Energy to Your Spring Semester

By: Katie Kerrigan

With just a few weeks left in the spring semester, summer vacation is on our minds. While a change of scenery and endless days on the beach sounds like the perfect cure for the mid-spring burnout, there are still a few weeks of studying and homework left.

A stack of assignments may force you to put your summer planning aside, but there is nothing stopping you from bringing a little bit of summer energy into your routine. For those who cannot wait to welcome the summer season, here are some tips to embrace the vacation spirit while setting yourself up for a successful end to the semester.

During the last few weeks of the spring semester, it often feels like you spend all of your time indoors on beautiful days. If you can, try doing your homework outside. For anyone with lots of readings to do or notes to take, sitting outside away from screens is a great way to get some sun and help yourself focus. Try going to a local park or sitting outside at your favorite coffee shop for some fresh air while you study.

Incorporate some summer scents into your home. Look for tropical scented candles or even soaps, lotions, and lip balms to refresh your space. This Coconut & Pear and Mango Lip Balm Twin Pack from Burt’s Bees is sure to remind you of summer while keeping your lips moisturized.

The Quad Goals Multi-Palette from Morphe provides multiple products all in one compact design. It is the perfect size to throw in your bag for a last minute glow-up.

As the weather grows warmer, both your wardrobe and your bedding need to be changed out. Switch your closet over to your favorite heat-friendly pieces, and transition your bedding to a set that will work for summer nights. The Cloud Linen Blanket from Pottery Barn is a simple and stylish addition to your summer bedding set.

These Ugg Goldenstar Cross Slide Sandals are both fashionable for spring and built for summer adventuring.

Beyond summer shopping, adding some classic summer foods to your grocery list is sure to bring in some brighter flavors to your week. Along with the seasonal fruits and vegetables, pick up your favorite ice cream or plan a barbecue-style dinner with your friends. Nothing feels like summer more than classic barbecue food.

Even as the semester draws to a close, it is important to prioritize your assignments and finish the school year strong. Remember to schedule time for studying and break your workload down to make it feel more manageable. Before you know it, summer will be here and the only energy you will need will be for soaking in the sun.
