Celebrity Halloween Costumes Worthy of “A List” Status

Celebrity Halloween Costumes Worthy of “A List” Status

The intersection of costuming and fashion comes at a very interesting head on the weekend of October 31, and it is fascinating to see how celebrities pair with their favorite stylists and creative directors to produce the most outlandish and fun costumes, shoots, and parties to celebrate the holiday. Here are some of the most notable and fun Halloween costumes from this past weekend.

Eugene Lee Yang as Eddie Munson and Vecna in Stranger Things, Zac Kornfeld as Deirdre Beaubeaudire in Everything Everywhere All at Once

The entire Try Guys office party on Friday seemed to be vibrant, with two members of the comedy trio making this list. Eugene Lee Yang has always been a celebrity to make best dressed Halloween lists, and this year was no exception. With his screen-accurate depictions of both Eddie Munson and Vecna, he set the bar for the weekend of costumes.  Credit is also due to one of his counterparts: Zac Kornfeld. Dressed as Deirdre Beaubeaudire, the accountant in Everything Everywhere All at Once, Kornfield did not miss a beat, hot dog hands and all. It was hilarious, screen accurate, and a great way to honor the film.

Kylie Jenner as the Bride of Frankenstein/Elvira/Planet Kylie

While Jenner is always noted when it comes to celebrities that dress up for Halloween, she set the bar for the weekend in terms of her multiple costumes. She dressed up and held elaborate photoshoots for all three days of Halloweekend, and all three looks are works of art. The Bride of Frankenstein and Elvira looks were accurate and fascinating, with intricate costumes, wigs, and makeup. The Planet Kylie theme, however, was the most enchanting, with Jenner channeling multiple futuristic looks throughout her elaborate shoot that took up a total of five posts.

Lizzo as Marge Simpson and Miss Piggy

Lizzo channeled two iconic cartoon characters throughout the weekend in the forms of Marge Simpson and Miss Piggy from The Muppets. The bar was extremely high, with Lizzo painting herself completely yellow for her Marge Simpson look, and having a prosthetic pig nose for her multiple Miss Piggy looks. Her posts from the weekend were paired with hilarious captions in true Lizzo fashion. Lizzo landed among many best-dressed lists from this past weekend, and she has seemed to have set the bar for the future. She was styled by Shelby Swain, Alex Mayo, Brett Lannelson, and Eri Ishizu.

Lili Reinhart, Madelaine Petsch and Camilia Mendes as the Sanderson Sisters

A trio that has made themselves known in the entertainment industry, the former Riverdale stars stepped out on Saturday with amazing renditions of the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus. The looks had their own twist on the original costumes, with form-fitting dresses and sharp lines in their makeup. The three actresses were met with praise from the public and “A list” celebrities alike. The actresses were styled by Matthew Collins, Jen Tioseco, Marco Squared, Ericka Verrett, Rob Zangardi, and Marc Mena.

The Harris-Burtka Family as “Trick or Meat”

Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and their twins kept with the family tradition of headline-worthy costumes as four fast food mascots this year —Wendy’s, Burger King, McDonald’s, and Kentucky Fried Chicken, respectively. The shoot and styling were all done by the family, and Harris has gone on the record saying that we can expect similar grandeur in costumes for years to come.

Hedi Klum as… a worm?

The proclaimed “Queen of Halloween” was back again on Monday with one of the most interesting costumes in this roundup. This year at her annual Halloween party, she dressed as live bait alongside Tom Kaulitz as a one-eyed fisherman. She was in a head-to-toe prosthetic that required her to walk around on her knees, and makeup that blended in with the “skin” of the prosthetic. The supermodel has a knack for outlandish costumes, and turning this particular pop culture phenomenon into a brilliant costume is nothing less than par for the course.

While celebrities are often used to making a best-dressed list after award shows, fashion weeks, or film premieres; the lists from this weekend always seem to be the most exciting.
