Square Spotlight: Kristine Locker

Square Spotlight: Kristine Locker

The rise of online shopping and curated wardrobes has left many consumers with endless browser tabs, forgotten wish lists tucked away, and no sense of personal style. Kristine Locker, founder and CEO of Locker, recognized the need for a condensed, personalized shopping experience.

After graduating from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Real Estate Finance, Locker moved home to sunny California to work with her father in real estate brokerage after a short stint in Dallas working for Goldman Sachs. Locker describes herself as the “go-to person for friends and family when they need something new for any occasion.” This title entailed a collection of browser tabs and screenshots, which Locker never went back to look at, leaving countless outfits to slip away.

“This showed me that on a fundamental utility level, the world needed a product like Locker,” Locker said. Locker, a website and app, allows users to save products from all across the internet into a wish list. The user can create as many different wish lists as they like, allowing the user to be as niche or as broad as they prefer. The platform also has a collage element where one can use saved products to create a vision board for themselves, allowing for easy outfit planning and inspiration.

The social element of the app is what makes it so unique. Users can follow friends and creators and follow along with their personal style journeys. Locker said she “wanted to create a space where the everyday consumer felt valued for their recommendations and a place they could come and get inspired by what their friends are shopping for.”

Locker encourages intentional, thoughtful consumption. Users are able to compile their ideal wardrobe pieces and come back to shop for them when the time is right. Locker said, “this process of seeking out the perfect pieces to add to my closet is what led to creating Locker.”

Lacking hierarchy and not barring participation based on online status, Locker is the place for everyday influencing and a space for every fashion-forward individual to share and be inspired.
