7 Haircut Trends

There is no better time to reinvent oneself than the new year, whether it be moving to a new city, redecorating your home or apartment, or getting a brand new haircut and style. Hairstylists are predicting 2024 to reel in the more laid back looks of the 1970s. Shorter haircuts will be in style with a more effortless flair.
1. ‘70s “Birkin” Bangs
A 1970s hair revival has been a long time coming, and it has finally arrived. Inspired by the infamous Jane Birkin, who passed away this year, this haircut features full French bangs paired with long hair.
2. Classic Quiff
One the top trending male haircuts of the year is the classic quiff. This haircut is a classy style that features longer hair on the top and in the front of the head with short sides to create a flattering look. This style exudes confidence, and can be done in a variety of different ways, exemplified by the multitude of celebrities who sport the cut such as Austin Butler, David Beckham, and Robert Pattinson.
3. Polished Shag
With long, straight layers, this cut appears more polished than the regular shag haircut. The simplicity of this hairstyle makes it easy to style and maintain.
4. Butterfly Layers
This infamous cut gained popularity in the disco era. It is a bit more on the girly side, but nonetheless beautiful and perfect for face-framing with soft, fluttering layers that encourage movement and volume. This cut features shorter face-framing layers that cascade like wings, with longer layers throughout the body of the hair.
5. Textured Bob
2023 seems to be the year of simplicity, further represented in the popularization of the textured bob. The bob hairstyle is easy to manage and very flattering, showcasing a woman’s pure confidence and allowing her face to glow.
6. Lazy Buzz Cut
The so-called lazy buzz cut is like a normal buzz but a little softer and more grown out. This style feels a lot more grown-up from the bleached or colored buzz cuts that have been popular in the past. It is accomplished by the sides of the head being a bit more grown out while the top remains shorter. The cut comes off as low maintenance and simple, yet chic.
7. Round Curly Cut
This curly hairstyle is the most versatile and therefore, predicted to be the most popular in 2024. This cut shapes the face and allows curls to appear fuller.
Whether you are cutting your hair off for a sleek buzz or growing it out for beautiful layers, a new cut is destined to make you feel refreshed and excited for the new year to come.
