Beat Chapped Lips This Winter with These Hydrating Products

By: Katie Kerrigan

Winter is one of the most magical times of the year. While snowy landscapes, cozy evenings, and the approaching new year always bring joy, what is not magical is the havoc that cold weather can wreak on your skin, specifically, your lips.

Taking care of your lips in the winter is a critical component of seasonal skincare. No one likes painful, cracked lips, so to avoid this, make sure your lips get just as much moisture as the rest of your skin. Chances are if you have to switch to a heavier moisturizer in the winter, your lips should be getting some extra attention too.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm provides the perfect amount of hydration while also adding a dab of color suitable for any holiday party. This small tube is great for slipping in pockets and handbags for busy on-the-go days.

EOS The Sweet Treats 4-Pack Lip Balm Sticks

For those who are constantly forgetting things before heading out the door, this 4-pack is for you. With four deliciously flavored lip balms, you can slip one in every bag and coat pocket and never worry about forgetting lip balm again.

Fenty Beauty Pro Kiss’r Luscious Lip Balm

Fenty Beauty’s Pro Kiss’r Luscious Lip Balm offers a glossier, more luxurious experience without compromising hydration. With an average of 4.7 stars on their website, this lip balm is worth a try.

Florence by Mills Glow Yeah Hydrating Vegan Lip Oil

This lip oil from Florence by Mills is another product with great reviews. Lip oils are perfect for adding a bit of shine without the stickiness of a lip gloss. Swipe this over a layer of lip balm to lock in the moisture all day long.

Another important thing to remember about lip care is that a little exfoliation can go a long way. If you find your lip balm merely sitting on top of dead skin, opt for a lip scrub first. These can be bought just about anywhere, or easily made with household ingredients like sugar and honey. Rub the mixture gently over your lips to remove dead skin, wipe off, and apply lip products like normal.

However you care for your skin this winter, be sure to remember your lips.
