Beyoncé Launches Hair Care Brand Cécred

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has spent a large portion of her life in a makeup and hair chair. As a child she participated in singing competitions, and in the 1990s became an integral part of one of the most popular girl-groups of all time, Destiny’s Child. Since releasing her first solo album Dangerously in Love in 2003, Beyoncé has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide, won 32 Grammy Awards, and been named the Recording Industry Association of America’s Top Certified Artist of the Decade, among other groundbreaking accolades.

Now Queen Bey is back and ready to dominate another industry, this time with her new hair care brand Cécred. Released on February 20, Beyoncé’s abundant hair care line includes everything from shampoos and conditioners to protein treatments and styling tools.

Throughout her almost 30 year long career, the star has undergone numerous hair transformations, many of which caused her naturally textured hair to become damaged and broken. She realized that the market lacked products capable of moisturizing and strengthening textured hair like hers, so she decided to create them.

As the business mogul explains on the brand’s website, Cécred (pronounced “sacred”), is about “...prioritizing yourself and all the things you hold sacred.” While helping in her mother’s salon as a child, Beyoncé saw her mom transform clients by mixing mainstream products with those made for textured hair. She drew from these experiences to create a brand that uses advanced science while simultaneously building new sacred hair care rituals.

To make the brand as personalized as possible, curious shoppers can take a free quiz on the Cécred website to better understand their hair type and find the best routine for their personal hair care needs. They can also shop by hair type to discover which products are most beneficial for them. Prices range from as low as $20 for individual products to $265 for product bundles. As of now, Cécred products can be purchased  exclusively on  their website.
