Glowing Skin for the New Year
Glowing Skin for the New Year
By: Elena Ossoski
Why on earth would we ever want to abandon the glowy skin makeup trend? Everyone and their mother seeks exceptional skin, but the dewy look has trampled all other makeup trends this year. While ringing in the new year, I’ll be sporting some glitter (as always). But, I can’t think of a better way to start a fresh year than with a fresh face.
Here’s what I’ll be doing to get filter-free, glowing skin this New Year’s Eve:
Prep the skin with your choice of moisturizer. My moisturizer isn’t even moisturizer, it’s just SPF 100 sunscreen from Neutrogena because no one wants wrinkles.
Hydrate. I try to give my face extra hydration with the rose water facial toning spray from Trader Joe’s. It’s dirt cheap and gets the job done. Also, don’t forget the lips! I just used an old eos lip balm that I’ve had for years.
For minimal coverage, skip the foundation and only use concealer in the spots you want to. Translucent powder will help set the concealer as well as help blend the other products that are coming up next.
Give your cheeks a pop of color with a cream blush. Mine is a blush/lip duo from e.l.f.
Up next is bronzer, which is my favorite part of any look. My bronzer is well-loved, as you can tell by the visible silver pan.
For some extra glow, add a bit of powdered blush that has a hint of glitter in it. The one used in the video is from NARS.
Brush through your brows and add some mascara… we’re almost done!
Add some shimmering gloss to the lips for one final touch. The one I used is a roll-on lip gloss from Lavender Stardust.
That’s all! You only need these eight easy steps to achieve glowing skin as you head into the new year. For more beauty articles like this one, continue to regularly check umsquaremagazine.com and follow us @um.squaremagazine on Instagram!
