A good skincare routine is imperative and beneficial for men to prevent premature aging, acne, and razor burn, and heighten confidence.

Men’s skin is naturally thicker, coarser, and oiler, so it makes sense that skin routines would alter from men to women. On top of that, shaving can lead to ingrown hair and irritation on cheeks and around beard lines. This can easily be prevented by practicing a simple daily and nightly cleansing routine.

Better skin starts with knowing how to care for your skin. According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, the first step for anyone wanting to practice a healthy, effective, and beneficial skincare routine is to identify their skin type: sensitive, dry, or oily, just to name a few. You should always wash your face daily and after exercise. When shaving, use moisturizing shaving cream and always shave in the direction of hair growth. Make sure to moisturize daily, specifically immediately after bathing, showering, or shaving. And of course, wear sunscreen! Sun damage leads to wrinkles and skin cancer.
