Nailed It

Nailed It

There’s nothing quite like a new year to kickstart new trends and revive old ones. Since the beginning of 2021, it has become crystal clear that this is going to be another year of seeking out anything and everything that will induce a bit of nostalgia.

Within the last couple of weeks, the number of friends and acquaintances that have told me that they’re getting their nails done, or posted a “this or that” poll on their Instagram story, attempting to choose one nail art design over another is mind-blowing. Never in my life have I witnessed this many people make the trek out to a salon so frequently in search of fulfilling their fix of the latest beauty trend: Y2K-compatible nail art.

Intricate French tips, playful fruit decals, and the most popular hues of pastel: these are just a few of the year’s biggest nail art trends. Friends and members of Square Magazine have been testing out these trends - check the coolest works of nail art done by the best of the best here in Oxford, Mississippi.
