2024 Indie Spirit Awards Red Carpet Recap

The 39th Film Independent Spirit Awards were held at the Santa Monica Pier and hosted by Saturday Night Live star Aidy Bryant. The night offered a reprieve from the sweeping successes of Oppenheimer, Barbie, and The Bear this awards season, as the ceremony focuses on honoring indie film and television projects. Of course, some of the usual suspects of awards season remained, with A-list celebrities still dominating the red carpet in more playful attire than many of the other awards shows this year.
Billie Eilish is known for breaking gender barriers in fashion, and her black Valentino zip-up paired with matching pants, a classic white button-down and black tie continued this trend.
Jeffrey Wright, who won the award for Best Lead Performance, wore a pinstriped suit buttoned all the way up, with a white button-down just barely peeking out underneath. The look was sophisticated and simple, fitting for someone taking home such a prestigious award.
Earning the award for Best Supporting Performance, Da’Vine Joy Randolph continued her winning streak this season in a Da Shoné by DaSh maroon gown and matching trench coat paired with bronze heels, earrings, and sunglasses.
No one does a red carpet appearance quite like Colman Domingo. Wearing a custom tweed Versace suit with a silky trench coat thrown over his shoulders, Domingo once again proved that high-end menswear does not have to be boring.
Charles Melton, nominated for his performance in May December, wore loose-fitting khaki trousers, a white shirt and tie, and a navy blazer with thick buttons and a wide lapel, all by Louis Vuitton.
BEEF has been dominating the awards circuit this year, and star Steven Yeun was the epitome of quiet confidence in a simple black tuxedo and mint button-up. BEEF director Lee Sung Jin brought flair to the red carpet, wearing a green and beige suit that gave the feeling of acid-wash, paired with white, round glasses for added drama.
Anne Hathaway continues to prove her status as a fashion icon, opting for a sparkling Valentino jumpsuit for this year’s Indie Spirit Awards.
Andrew Scott, star of All of Us Strangers, was walking sunshine at the event, wearing a bright yellow suit with matching shoes and a sheer, white shirt underneath.
Winner of Best Breakthrough Performance Dominic Sessa wore a custom white tuxedo by Saint Laurent with a sheer, brown button-down underneath. The look was reminiscent of 1970s menswear, which contrasted well with the star’s relative youth in the industry.
The Indie Spirit Awards celebrate the best independent film and television projects of the year, and the stars took to the red carpet in style, eager to prove that indie media is just as glamorous and valuable as blockbuster productions.
