Area Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Area Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear Collection

By: Aliza Warner

Area has become known for glitzy, colorful, and fun looks, their pieces ranging from embellished denim shorts to creatively designed butterfly tops. Worn by famous names like Dua Lipa, Olivio Rodrigo, and Beyonce in British Vogue’s July 2022 issue, Area reminds us that fashion can and should be exciting and bold. Now back in New York Fashion Week, Area displays their Fall 2022 Ready-To-Wear (Collection 04) and introduces a future collaboration with Sergio Rossi.

Immediately we see significant use of unique shapes incorporated into the different pieces — the bold (and bedazzled) spikes placed on the entirety of the look, the ribbon-like structure that creates a top or shapes a dress, and the geometric formation of accessories.

The accessories are beautifully extravagant, continuing with the theme displayed in the collection. Pieces shown, such as chokers, belts, shoes, earrings, and headpieces, all incorporate unique shapes in some form, whether symmetrical or asymmetrical; they all are used gorgeously and artistically throughout the collection.

Between dresses with jeweled straps, colorful embroidery on denim, and yellow fur trims, the exquisite details are present throughout the entirety of the collection. We also see many crystallized looks glimmering on the runway in the form of gowns, suits, and tops – a chic signature for Area.

Before the debut of this collection, an announcement was made on the brand’s Instagram that Area would collaborate with Sergio Rossi, the Italian luxury shoe brand, writing that they “have come together to find beauty in unexpected and challenging places.” This collaboration will launch in February of next year, and it will be exciting to see what this partnership brings to Area.

With their latest collection and newly announced collaboration, Area continues to show the world how fashion can be exhilarating with their ingenious & exciting creations.
