Bringing High Fashion Home

Bringing High Fashion Home

The world of high fashion, runway shows, and designer labels may be an integral part of the fashion world, but for the average person following these trends can feel overwhelming.  Whether you grew up following fashion week or have trouble remembering the names of designer brands we have a few easy ways to implement today’s high fashion trends into your wardrobe.

A lot of this fall’s runway scene showcased high-end business casual wear, with designers like Brandon Maxwell previewing elegant and oversized pantsuits and blazers. A simple way to incorporate this into your style is to buy or thrift an oversized blazer and coordinating pants. Whether it is a neutral color or something a bit bolder, blazers are a great outerwear staple that elevates your outfit, no matter how casual the occasion. Pairing an oversized blazer with either matching or coordinating trousers completes the business casual look.

Midi and maxi skirts and dresses are making their way to center stage this season. Just because a skirt or dress is long does not mean it has to be formal. Maxi skirts paired with a simple t-shirt, or a long dress covered with a casual jacket can take you anywhere from running errands to dinner out with friends.

Another fall essential is knee-high boots. With plenty of affordable options on the market this time of year, throwing them on with a dress or simple skirt can pull together a chic look in minutes.

While the weather may appear duller in the fall and winter seasons, that does not mean your wardrobe needs to be boring. Bold prints are not a seasonal fashion statement and can be implemented through funky pants or a patterned sweater to see you through the colder months of the year.

Hermès focused heavily on matching sets at Paris Fashion Week this year, and luckily as a result, many more low-cost brands have followed suit. Matching sets with pants or skirts are a great way to look more formal without having to sacrifice comfort. There is something about a great set that makes you stand out from the crowd no matter where you are.

High fashion sets the trends for the season, but this does not mean you can only implement these trends through designer brands. Pulling smaller pieces of outfits from runway shows is a fun and easy way to look on-trend without having to follow every detail of fashion week.
