Coach Fall/Winter 2024

Coach Fall/Winter 2024

By: Claire Watkiss

Coach presented their fall/winter 2024 collection at the Marica Vilcek Great Hall inside NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts during New York Fashion Week. The show included clothing items that featured feminine motifs, excessive layering, and occasional pops of color.

The popularity of bows that circulated on social media earlier this year was very present in Coach’s runway show. From big bows layered on skirts to a knit sweater featuring a bow graphic, Coach incorporated the trend elegantly into their collection. A male model was seen walking the runway in a bow-printed set, showing the trend can be worn by anyone. The recent “ballet-core” trend was also seen through ballet flats paired with several looks. Another interesting aspect was a rubber duck graphic on a bright yellow knit sweater.

Many outfits featured on Coach’s runway had heavy layers on top paired with shorts and skirts, exposing the legs of the models. Trench coats worn atop sweaters and hoodies overwhelmed the majority of looks in the collection. Combat boots were paired with most of the outfits, adding edge to the looks.

The show reinvented new and old trends, showing viewers the endless possibilities that come with layering different clothing items. The pops of color and graphic prints added a level of excitement to the designs.

Famous for their leather handbags, Coach did not fail to accessorize their models. They put an interesting twist on otherwise simple styles by adding charms to the handbags. The Statue of Liberty, an apple, a yellow taxi cab, and even a mug saying “I heart NYC” all hung from the bags that the models carried as they walked, paying homage to the city.

Coach continues to reinvent and appeal to various audiences, which will only continue to add to their success as a brand. You can see each look yourself by watching the full show here
