Emilia Wickstead Autumn/Winter 2025 Ready-to-Wear

Taking inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock—especially Tippi Hedren’s portrayal of Melanie Daniels in The Birds—Emilia Wickstead’s autumn/winter collection leaned away from her traditional romantic style, instead presenting a uniquely eerie mood.
Wickstead reimagined the essence of Tippi Hedren’s character, echoing the film’s aesthetic while also bringing in modern elements for a contemporary twist. The show featured tailored skirts, suits, and dresses, paired with a unique color palette that made for a dynamic show.
The designs consisted of solid cool-toned colors with muted warmer-toned accents. Many details were taken from the film The Birds, such as suits with a vintage feel and sweaters and cardigans paired with mid-length skirts.
Wickstead also presented more modern elements, one of those elements appearing to resemble crocodile skin coats. Wickstead layered precisely creased dress shirts featuring large and askew collars with different coats and textures.
Patterned dresses and skirts made an appearance, making for a dynamic look while also sticking to the vintage inspiration. Some monochromatic suits featured a bulkier structure while others draped effortlessly on the body. Some models carried newspapers titled “The Wickstead Times,” a small yet genius detail that added a thematic element of print media and everyday life to the show.
However, Wickstead couldn’t fully stray away from her iconic elegant gowns and pieces, as she presented a series of gorgeous gowns and dresses that stunned the audience. One of her designs, featuring delicate silver flowers, shined on the runway. Other gowns, featuring off-the-shoulder looks as well as distinctive textures, made for a harmonious finish to the show.
Overall, Wickstead continued to prove her versatility and talent as yet another collection showcased her undeniable creativity.
