Givenchy Fall/Winter 2023 Menswear Collection

Givenchy Fall/Winter 2023 Menswear Collection

By: Aliza Warner

Givenchy embodies the cool, effortless minimal aesthetic, showing that simplicity can be powerful in clothing. Givenchy is known for its modern glamor and continues to display just that in its latest show, Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 2023 Menswear Collection, exhibiting a variety of uniqueness and styling, including the choice of colors and fabrics against a crisp white backdrop in Paris, France.

From the beginning of the show, we are immediately shown the classic dark suit with a sharp silhouette. This structure fits with Givenchy’s aesthetic and creates a strong, bold look that can be seen with the blazers and trench coats throughout the collection.

From trench coats to sweatshirts, leather jackets, puffer coats, and vests, each staple outerwear piece is very wearable for the fall and winter seasons.

This collection’s use of color is unique, with bright neons popping up amongst the neutral and earthy undertones. Whether it be a design on a sleeve, a sweatshirt layered under a coat, or a colorful accessory, the use of color gives a fun element to many of the looks.

There are many uses of layering in this collection — suits with turtlenecks, vests over shirts, and blazers paired with sweatshirts, to name a few. Accessories like leather gloves, baseball caps, and sunglasses complement the cool weather styling.

Simplicity does not mean similarity in this collection. The use of leather, camouflage, and plaid effortlessly supplement outfits, creating a unique look as we view it on the runway.

Givenchy has once again provided an impressive take on fall and winter menswear through its glamorous sophistication and innovative styling.
