Jacquemus Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear

Jacquemus Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear

By: Elena Ossoski

Simon Porte Jacquemus, founder and creative director of the French fashion house Jacquemus, caused quite a stir in the digital world of fashion after announcing on Instagram that his next show was to be his “last one.” Any fan of the cult-favorite brand felt their wave of panic wash away when it was followed by, “... of the year!” on the post’s second image.

The founder’s light, lively nature is apparent in his announcement of the show and throughout the collection. Jacquemus’s ready-to-wear line for the 2023 spring season has been dubbed “Le Raphia” to further communicate the mood that inspired each piece.

Rain made of straw fell down as the models walked by in barely-there black dresses with sun hats large enough to shade yourself and a friend on either side of you. Dramatized silhouettes accompanied the classic cropped tops, strappy details, and micro-mini skirts that we are used to seeing from Jacquemus.

The fringed textiles, pops of cherry red, and polka-dot hotpants are proof that this collection is defined by the nostalgic playfulness of summertime. Until the warmer days are here again, you can find us daydreaming about spending a sunny afternoon in any one of Jacquemus’s newest pieces. Click here to watch the full show
