Kate Barton Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear

By Sophie Amen — February 20, 2025

Known for her structured profiles and innovative approaches to draping, Kate Barton continues to solidify her spot as one of the many young New York-based designers to watch. Barton’s New York Fashion Week exhibition swapped a traditional runway show for an immersive presentation, signaling a new way to experience fashion.

Barton’s futuristic approach involved teaming up with AI platform ‘Fiducia AI’ to create the display, even allowing guests to pick out pieces from the collection and try them on virtually.

“It is fashion that uses new tools to heighten craft, deepen storytelling, and bring more people into the experience, without flattening the people who make it,” Barton told TechCrunch

Regarding the collection itself, Barton showcased her unique techniques with avant-garde evening wear. The looks stuck to a predominantly neutral and dark palette with a few pops of vibrant blues, and many of the garments featured sculpturally draped materials for a liquid effect.

The collection featured knitwear, extravagant gowns, structured coats, and more, giving a modern yet wearable feel. Barton’s designs remained grounded in flattering yet practical garments. This collection, while innovative, felt like something that could easily work into an everyday wardrobe.

Barton’s talent and modern approach—combined with a grounded understanding of style—were beautifully depicted in this collection, which was equally as innovative as it was fashionable in its execution.
