Oxford Fall 2025 Fit Check

Oxford Fall 2025 Fit Check

Ole Miss is well-known for its distinct fashion and style. While many might associate the university with The Grove on a gameday—packed with girls in nice dresses, expensive boots and bags, and adorned with buttons—the campus has a unique everyday style as well.

During weekdays, The Grove once again becomes the cultural epicenter of campus, this time with college students rushing to and from class. It is on these days that the everyday style of Ole Miss is most accurately showcased.

Oxford fashion has always been a mix of comfort and individuality, but this fall, Ole Miss students are leaning into a handful of signature looks. Students are loving activewear, bright colors like pink and yellow, and bold patterns such as polka dots.. This unofficial campus uniform reflects both national trends and Southern flair.

“I think if Ole Miss were a style, the words I would use to describe it would be: expensive, colorful, active, and maybe repetitive, because of trends,” junior Carlin Gillen said.

One of the trends taking over campus right now is PARKE sweatshirts.

“I feel like every day I’m seeing at least five of them when I’m walking around campus,” sophomore Megan Gearheart said.

PARKE was founded by Chelsea Parke in 2022 and focuses on the classics and the essentials, designed for everyday wear. This year, the brand’s signature oversized, varsity mock-neck sweatshirt has taken over SEC campuses.

Students often pair these sweatshirts with more athletic apparel.

“I see a ton of tennis dresses and matching athletic sets. Lululemon, Alo, and Free People Movement sets and dresses are always around campus,” junior Jadyn Noll said.

The look is not just about convenience; it is about signaling a certain kind of campus cool. Brands like Alo and Free People Movement carry weight as wearable status pieces while also being practical for a busy college student in the Mississippi heat.

Matching athletic sets and dresses provide a comfy and casual option fit for walking around campus all day, while still keeping a polished, put-together look.

“I feel for class, people choose comfort over looks, but it still feels like a ‘fashion show’ because everyone is still focused on looking good and being trendy,” Gillen said about this go-to combination.

“I think people here dress more for casual comfort, but in a stylish way,” Noll said.

Though the outfits themselves may be casual, polished details are rising in popularity.

More and more people are opting for an ankle sock with a small ruffle on the top, instead of the traditional no-show sock, when wearing sneakers around campus.

“I think it’s such a simple, cute touch,” Gearheart said.

Another elevated detail is that some people are ditching their backpacks for tote bags when going from class to class.

“Definitely a lot more girls are starting to carry around tote bags instead of backpacks,” Gillen said.

Students are sporting many different styles of totes around Oxford. From Goyard to Longchamp, to the Southern staple LL Bean Boat and Tote, there are endless looks and color options to choose from. Many feel that a tote bag rather than a backpack offers a more professional, mature, and stylish look.

While trends may come and go, the bigger picture is consistent: college students love experimenting with fashion and personal style. Though many students prioritize comfort and trends, Ole Miss’s distinct style is still shining through this fall season.
