A collaboration between businesswoman Kim Kardashian and musician Lana Del Rey proved to be both unexpected and genius. Skims, Kim Kardashian’s clothing line, has skyrocketed in popularity by providing loungewear, shapewear, and underwear for every type of body. The face of Skims’ most recent collection for Valentine’s Day was none other than Lana Del Rey. Del Rey posed for British photographer and artist Nadia Lee Cohen in different Skims pieces at the dreamy shoot. The campaign has since gone viral, inspiring women across the world to place an order from Skims.
The Skims 2024 Valentine’s Day shop features 29 pieces of lingerie, loungewear, and sleepwear. The new items come in a variety of vibrant colors, juxtaposing the usual neutrality of Skims’ branding. The collection is priced between $16 and $124, and includes a periwinkle teddy, a pink, lace cami bodysuit, and a heart-print pajama set.
Del Rey is an expert on creating and executing a certain aesthetic with precision. The photoshoot showcased the music icon’s Old Hollywood glamor and classic Americana style. The singer was staged in a series of whimsical sets inspired by vintage pin-ups. Del Rey posed in limited-edition products like Skims’ Fits Everybody and Woven Shine collections. In a statement, Del Rey said, “I’ve been a big fan of Skims since the beginning. Their collection is so pretty and dreamy, which made collaborating with Cohen on the creative so fun.”
The Grammy-winning artist’s ambassadorship announcement amassed $13.7 million in media impact within four days, with Del Rey’s own Instagram post earning $4 million for Skims. Lana Del Rey and Kim Kardashian prove to be quite the team as they combine their shared power of sparking public attention.
Skims Valentine’s Day pieces are available online and in retailers such as Nordstrom and Harrods.
