Threads at Full Throttle: A Look Into Formula One Fashion
Threads at Full Throttle: A Look Into Formula One Fashion

While many believe that tennis is at the forefront of sports’ relationship with fashion, Formula One is leaving that idea in the dust.
One of Formula One’s most successful drivers, Lewis Hamilton, served as one of the co-chairs for the 2025 Met Gala. Standing alongside fashion icons and red-carpet regulars, Hamilton wore a custom suit by Grace Wales Bonner, in line with the event’s “Tailored for You” theme. His look carried personal meaning. Adorned with symbolic details, it represented, in his own words, “...more than a suit, this is an ancestral history.”
However, the drivers are not the only ones who are impeccably dressed; women have transformed the paddock into their own personal catwalks. The “WAGS” of F1—wives and girlfriends, that is—often steal the spotlight with their fashion-forward presence.
These women embody a modern and chic aesthetic. They gravitate toward classic silhouettes, yet never shy away from modern trends. Their wardrobes are meticulously curated: tailored pieces, neutral palettes, and an effortless nod to understated, old money style.
While these women may stand beside some of the most successful athletes in the world, they are also building brands of their own. Their influence has evolved beyond the paddock and even beyond the “WAGS” label.
Many, such as Alexandra Saint-Mleux, have progressed in their careers and become models, influencers, and even content creators. Saint-Mleux, girlfriend of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, is a prime example of how these women are establishing roles as digital style icons.
It is undeniable that these women are shaping the image of Formula One and turning the races into stylish events.
