Trend Spotlight: Capris

By Elena Ossoski

Capri or not capri? The triumphant return of these calf-capping trousers begs the question of whether or not this wardrobe hero from the early aughts is simply a recycled trend or if it is here to stay as a timeless silhouette.

For years, the capri reigned as the preferred pant length of the trend-savvy masses. The absence of the capri in the late 2010s and early 2020s made its return all the more noticeable. Social media’s chicest journalists and former podcast co-hosts Camille Charrière and Monica Ainley have been sharing how they style capris in a modern way.

Fitted or flared, knit or spandex: any will do. The capri is back.
