Ulla Johnson Spring/Summer 2024

Ulla Johnson Spring/Summer 2024

By: Claire Watkiss

Ulla Johnson, known for its feminine, free-spirited, and bohemian style, showed viewers playful prints and flexible silhouettes on the runway this season. Set in Brooklyn’s Powerhouse Arts warehouse, the scene created the perfect juxtaposition for the dainty pieces to stand out. Seashell outlines cast against the concrete floors and gold ropes hung from the high ceilings as two guitarists and a pianist played in the background.

The show began with bright colors and bold patterns. The models were decorated in statement earrings and strappy heels, complementing the outfits nicely. Frilly belts and brown leather bags were also seen as accessories during the show.

Metallic fabrics made an appearance along with lace detailing. Johnson played into every color of the rainbow, with green hues standing out.

Bright pink, last year’s most popular color, once again proved its status as statement-maker in flowing dresses and bold sunglasses.

No silhouettes were too tight, providing the perfect flowy fit for each model. Only a few neutral colors made an appearance, but Johnson kept these pieces exciting with the use of different fabrics and cuts. Sunbaked hues had their moment during the show as the perfect colors to transition into the season.

Johnson continues to keep her audience happy with just the right mix of feminine and urban components.
