Valentino Pink is Heating Up Summer Fashion

As summer approaches and warmth seeps into all areas of life, the runways are aglow with bright pigments. A radically different approach for the Valentino Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection shrunk the color wheel into one hue. The show was orchestrated by Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli and consisted only of shades of black and a bright, nearly fuschia pink. The hot pink color is set to become a Pantone shade known as “Pink PP.” It will join “Valentino Red” in the elements we associate with the Italian fashion house. According to Valentino, the color represents an escape from realism. The elimination of other colors allows for intense focus on the shape and texture of the garments. The show was set against an entirely pink background complete with pink chairs and pink walls. Watch the entire show here.
Attendees of the 2022 Met Gala were quick to don the shade on the carpet, which contrasted from the runway show’s entirely pink landscape. Sebastian Stan and the Peltz-Beckhams were all dressed by Valentino for the event. The looks consisted of complex, over exaggerated necklines and flowing layers.
As celebrities arrived in Venice for the 59th Annual International Art Exhibition, Kiernan Shipka was among many who were spotted in pink ensembles created by Valentino.
The color is likely to be spotted throughout the summer, and into the fall as the temperatures continue to rise. Keep up with Square Magazine throughout the summer for the latest in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. Follow us on Instagram @um.squaremagazine for more content.
