Victoria Beckham x Mango
Victoria Beckham x Mango
By Claire Watkiss
Victoria Beckham is collaborating with Mango to bring shoppers a taste of her personal style. The line will launch on April 23, also celebrating Mango’s 40th anniversary.
Beckham is calling this line “timeless,” saying that each piece in the collection is an investment and can be worn over and over again. The line is priced lower than her typical ready-to-wear designs, but the quality has not been compromised.
Shoppers can expect to see items that would be in Beckham’s own wardrobe. Think structured blazers, satin blouses and slip dresses, tailored trousers, and knitwear. The color palette includes soft pastels and neutrals, further stressing the timelessness of the collection.
Beckham says a source of inspiration for the collection was Jane Birkin’s character in the French film La Piscine. Much of this inspiration can be seen in photos teasing the collection, with models sporting all white and sitting poolside.
Designer collaborations started back in 2003 and have continued to grow in popularity ever since. They give high-end designers a chance to increase market share while maintaining their market position. In Beckham’s case, she wanted to collaborate with Mango to reach a wider audience while still staying true to her style’s DNA.
Mango describes the collection as “a perfect blend of classic British luxury.” You will want to be sure to mark your calendars for April 23 as these items are sure to fly off of the shelves.
