Letter from the Editor: Summer 2024

There are only a few days until our first team meeting of the 2024-25 academic year. As the Square team returns to Oxford from places far and wide, and the last moments of summer quickly pass myself and fellow students of Ole Miss, my mind runs wild with thoughts of the year ahead.

I am confident that our 2024-25 team will bring Square to new heights. Their interviews inspired the Square directors and I, with many turning into impromptu brainstorming sessions for the year ahead rather than Q&As. We’re lucky to have new faces and several returning friends on the team this year. I look forward to building upon the creative rapport we developed last year and expanding our creative potential with the input of new minds. The synergy this team has already found makes me more excited for the impending semester than I have been before.

In a recent conversation with Social Director Addy Ezell, I was reminded of just how important Square is to our community. It provides an outlet for creatives and fashion lovers both as members of our team and the community at large — an easy thing to forget in the midst of answering emails and finalizing schedules.

At the helm of this powerful group, my goals for the year are to expand, push boundaries, and anchor in the Lafayette, Oxford, and University communities. This year, we will live our founding values of creativity, excellence, and innovation to the fullest.

May 2024-25 be our best year yet!
