Summer is in full swing here in Oxford! Most of the team has gone away, but I’ll be enjoying a slow summer in the comfort of our college town until the fall semester comes around.

With the academic year behind us, I want to take the time to express how incredibly proud I am of the 2023-24 Square team. Their contributions and commitment to our beloved magazine have allowed us to expand our reach and explore the breadth of our creative abilities, as this year’s magazine marks our longest in terms of page count and readership.

If you are interested in picking up a copy, keep watch of Square’s Instagram. We will update about where and when to get yours throughout the summer and fall.

I am honored to begin my second year as editor and first as the sole editor in chief of Square for the next year. I know I have big shoes to fill after Elena’s graduation,but I won’t be in it alone.

Square’s 2024-25 directors have been selected! The incredible women below have each dedicated their free time to Square for the past year — for some, two to three years — and I am thrilled to be working alongside them ina greater capacity.

Our teams will be headed by: Abby Fulmar, copy editor; Aliza Werner, digital director; Mailynn Nguyen, social director; Ruth Emmerich, creative director; Hollis Ann Newbill, creative planner; and HG Crain, business director.

Applications for the 2024-25 Square team are open! All undergraduate students at the University of Mississippi are welcome to apply.
