Square Spotlight: IzzyB Goldstein
Square Spotlight: IzzyB Goldstein

As a makeup-obsessed, lively West Palm Beach native, IzzyB Goldstein is anything but ordinary, so it should come as no surprise that her vibrant and fun yet collected style always stuns. Captivated by broadcasting and journalism in high school, Goldstein chose to major in both. IzzyB grew up immersed in the enchanting world of fashion, frequently watching The Devil Wears Prada and documentaries such as The First Monday in May with her parents and coveting silver screen stars’ personal style.
With a background in broadcasting and journalism from her highschool days, Izzy told me that choosing a major in Integrated Marketing Communications was an easy decision since it revolves around her love for media and fashion. Although she’s still unsure of the direction she wants to take post-grad, Goldstein reveals that the journalism field is what she feels most drawn to at the moment.
Goldstein on her personal style: “There’s not just one word to describe it. I always dress based on my mood, but no matter what I end up wearing, I just want to steer away from looking cheesy.”
She describes herself as having an ultra-feminine style with an edge; she always looks put together thanks to the little preppy details inspired by her Palm Beach roots. While shopping, Goldstein tends to be drawn towards Love Shack Fancy, For Love and Lemons, Zara, Revolve, and local boutiques in Oxford, including Cicada and Hemline.
IzzyB’s Wishlist:
After growing up in Florida, Goldstein was drawn to the contrasting culture at the University of Mississippi: on game days, boys in suits and collared shirts and girls in dresses paired with heels rather than crop tops or athletic wear.
Although Goldstein reports that her style hasn’t changed since coming to Ole Miss, she gravitates toward floral dresses while she’s back home in Florida. While at school, IzzyB strays away from denim shorts but continuously reaches for a matching set, fluttering mini dress, and classic Adidas sneakers with kelly green stripes or Gucci bumblebee boots.
“Since I had my boots in a storage locker here in Oxford over the summer, I found myself actually missing them while I was home,” Goldstein shares.
Her love for fashion is always being reinforced by her surroundings: friends, family, social media, documentaries, and the countless shows and films that revolve around impeccable style. Goldstein mentions how Sarah Jessica Parker’s looks as the fashion-forward, analytic columnist Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City has had a significant impact on her personal style, just as any sane person who has seen the iconic HBO series feels as well. Other films from decades past such as Grease and Hairspray continue to inspire her daily, so it comes as no surprise when IzzyB tells me that she tends to favor an out-of-the-box makeup look over an eccentric outfit.
Goldstein is hard to miss: she gravitates towards bright colors and funky yet personal jewelry, and she tells me that she’s never one to shy away from a bold stroke of a vibrant purple or blue across her eyelid. One of her favorite things to do while putting together a look is to color block with neighboring hues.
“If I pick out a red top, I love to use pink eyeshadow to create contrast… color contrasting has become one of my favorite things to do while getting ready.”
