The Hot Girl Walk: Why It Works and Why You Need to Do It

Physical wellness involves more than just looking good. Wellness is holistic, and rounding out our wellness requires effort on the mental and emotional fronts as well. It can be difficult to find a way to realistically care for ourselves while working, studying, and maintaining a social life.
Then came the “Hot Girl Walk.” Originating on TikTok during the pandemic, the “Hot Girl Walk” is defined as walking for a time or distance of your choosing while only thinking of uplifting, positive thoughts. In true self-care fashion, it is a requirement to wear your favorite athleisure, listen to the perfect model-walk playlist or inspirational podcast, and go to a place of positivity, gratitude, and self-love.
The Outfit
A Hot Girl Walk is a low-impact workout, so pull out your favorite workout set, walking shoes, and necessary accessories to feel your best. Go for a fanny pack, sunglasses, and headphones to make both the outfit practical and finish the look. If you want a challenge, look into a set of ankle weights, such as Bala Bangles, to level up your walk.
The Mindset
There are three important aspects of the Hot Girl Walk mindset: you look great, you are successful, and you are grateful. Think of your goals and how you will achieve them. Use your Hot Girl Walk to meditate and manifest while you move your body and get some fresh air. Some affirmations you may find useful include:
I am happy and healthy.
I am capable of achieving my goals.
I am where I am meant to be.
The Playlist
Almost as important as the mindset is the playlist or podcast. We have created a Spotify playlist that is perfectly tailored to the Hot Girl Walk. For podcasts, our staff picks include The Wellness Cafe, For you From Eve, Happy and Healthy, and The Skinny Confidential Him and Her Podcast.
The Hot Girl Walk is a simple and effective form of self-care that nourishes your mind and body. It leaves us without much of an excuse to avoid it. So, get outside, hit play on our playlist, and get walking!
