Where Are They Now? with Leah Jackson

Scrolling through TikTok, you might have come across a video or two of @leahlouuu styling her followers for events or showing her outfit of the day. @Leahlouuu, or Leah Jackson, is a recent Ole Miss alumna who has found fame on TikTok with 77k followers and about 8,000 followers on Instagram @xoleahjackson. Jackson recently moved back to the Nashville area to pursue her career as an influencer while also working for a social media company. According to Jackson, she has always been intrigued by fashion.
“I was raised by a single mom who was very girly,” Jackson said. “She had a custom hand-painted bow and smock dress for every occasion.”
With her mom’s influence on her style from a young age, Jackson embraced the feminine, girly style she was surrounded by.
“My entire childhood while other kids were watching Dora, my mom would have me watching Clueless,” Jackson said. “In the movie, Cher stresses the importance of her staple pieces and taking care of them.”
During her time at Ole Miss Jackson found several friends who supported her and her love for fashion, some even helped her with her content.
“They would help me film or take any photo. I am so thankful for them, and feel like they really helped me get to where I am today,” Jackson said.
While still in college, Jackson began to post on TikTok for fun, until her posts gained traction.
“I love all things fashion and lifestyle so I continued to post almost everyday,” Jackson said. “Through TikTok and Instagram I have been given the opportunity to work with brands I have always loved which has been so surreal. There are also so many girls on TikTok that I have become friends with that have the best style. I love talking and collaborating with them. Honestly, I feel like TikTok has helped me step out of my comfort zone a little when it comes to fashion too.”
Her following has led to several new avenues for her business, one, in particular, is receiving DMs from followers asking her to style them for an event of special occasion. Jackson has become a go-to influencer for fashion advice. Jackson loves connecting with her followers and hopes to continue her career as an influencer for as long as she can.
“Stay true to yourself and what you love. People gravitate towards authenticity,” Jackson said. “I have always posted what I truly like, and I think that has helped me connect with my audience. Social media is so powerful. You can connect with anyone in the world. I would tell them to use it to their advantage, and frequently post content you are proud of. It can be intimidating, and people will try to discourage you, but if it is something you really love, continue to do it. It is so important to surround yourself with people who love and support you.”
