What’s in My Cart: September 2021

Although it pains me to see the summer go, a new season is now upon us, which means it is due time to start forging a fall wish list. As a chronic window-shopper, I have browsed incessantly for everything from statement transition pieces to versatile bags to medicine cabinet restocks. In order to stay one purchase ahead, I have assembled my top five most promising candidates for checkout, whether that be the tried and true must-haves that keep me coming back or new releases from the brands I hope to see in my wardrobe before winter.
Glossier Boy Brow
This cult favorite product from a tried and true brand is tiny but mighty. Despite the array of wannabe Boy Brow dupes swarming the market, other brow pomades cannot hold a candle to the subtle, polished makeup look that takes shape when using this product. It is no wonder Boy Brow has become known as one of Glossier’s crowning glories. The product embodies Emily Weiss’s natural, effortless brand image to a T.
2. Aritzia Tna Tennis Skirt
Aritzia is no stranger to athleisure supremacy, and the Tna tennis skirt is proof. This itty-bitty wardrobe essential offers built-in shorts and hypnotizingly lightweight fabric that sways while you walk. And the best part? It is totally sustainable and made from recycled materials. Excuse me while I look for my wallet.
3. Praying Sticker Bag
Praying is a brand with quite a star-studded resume. If it is good enough to land in the closets of celebrities like Olivia Rodrigo and Madison Beer, it is certainly good enough for me. While Praying’s defining “Brangelina Crew” sweatshirt is equally as tempting, the Sticker Bag is eclectic, girlish, and charmingly tacky in a way that is hard to peel away from.
4. Billini Urson Boots
The cowboy boot bandwagon has arrived just in time for fall, and it waits for no one. If you can find them in stock, these western-inspired boots by Billini hold strong potential for saloon worthy style without looking like a Duck Dynasty cast member. The true selling point, however, is that the leather lining is synthetic. Cheers to guilt-free fashion!
5. Moroccanoil Treatment
Introducing: one of the most underrated hair care products on the market. The two main ingredients are Argan oil and linseed extract, meaning it is perfectly formulated for taming frizz, creating shine, and hydrating dry ends. Not to mention it has a heavenly just-left-the-salon scent that actually lasts.
