Where Are They Now? with Lyle Lawson

Ole Miss alumna and social media influencer Lyle Lawson made a name for herself in the world of fashion and social media by boasting her superb style and an aesthetically pleasing Instagram feed. With a network of almost 27,000 followers on Instagram, she has many followers who adore her fabulous style, which speaks for itself.  Alongside handling all that goes along with such a successful social media feed, Lawson has recently become a real estate agent in Austin, Texas, further showing how vast of a skillset she holds.  

Lawson was first drawn to Ole Miss because of Oxford. 

She says, “I was most attracted to the Southern charm of a small town with a lot of character and a great athletic program! I knew I wanted the traditional college experience, and the SEC was just the place for that.”

Many can agree that Ole Miss has a certain level of charm that cannot be found elsewhere.  Alongside this, Lawson was intrigued by the Integrated Marketing and Communications program in the School of Journalism and New Media.  With IMC as her major, Lawson has been able to become well-versed in many areas, thus making her the multi-talented influencer she is today.  Also, a minor in Business Administration added even more skill to her list.  Her knowledge is easily seen in her ability to effectively run her social media account, promote BeautyCounter products and produce a collection of presets for Instagram photos with her twin sister, alongside many more accomplishments. 

Lawson emphasizes that no two days are the same in her position. She said, “There is no typical day! Right after graduation, I was working for myself and my sister, so we had a lot of free time to create content and grow our business. Some days were filled with a structured photoshoot, some were prepping for shoots and organizing content and others were spent behind a computer screen working with our finances and accounting.”

Many know her for her remarkable sense of style, and she serves as an inspiration for others when building their wardrobes and daily outfits. Lawson said that fashion has always had a place in her life, and especially, she loves to share this love with her mom and sister. 

Lawson answered some questions that give a closer look into her sense of style.

What is your go-to outfit for a busy casual day?

My go-to outfit is a pair of fitted jeans, a tight crewneck tee or tank, strappy heels or trendy sneakers (depending on the day), and a jacket, probably a blazer or bomber!

What is your go-to outfit for a night out? 

I think I dress casually, even for a night out. You will probably find me in a more fun

outfit. Cool jeans, normally a simple top, and fun shoes!

 What is your favorite piece in your closet right now? 

Right now, I can't stop wearing slip skirts. I am not really a skirt person but with the weather in Austin changing constantly they have been a staple in my wardrobe lately!

What are your favorite current trends?

I am loving the Doc Martin trend and anything layered. Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons because I love to layer!

Boots or booties?

Booties, I definitely wear them more than tall boots!

Skinny jeans or straight-leg jeans?

I can't pick. I am obsessed with jeans and have way too many pairs!

Bright colors or neutral?

 Neutral colors all the way. I like having pieces I can mix and match.

 High top sneakers or low top sneakers?

Probably low top just for simplicity. I am tall, and low top sneakers or mid-range sneakers look best for me!

What is your most desired investment piece you want in your closet but do not currently have?

Ideally, I would love a tailored blazer that is perfect to me.

 Currently, Lawson works at a boutique luxury real estate company in Austin, Gottesman Residential.  She says, “I have loved starting this process and enjoy the amount of structure that comes from being in an office environment.  I know that I thrive with structure and productivity.”

Lyle Lawson is taking the fashion and social media world by storm. Her constant hard work and outstanding style make a huge statement to all who see. Many can agree when it is said that she will continue to do big things in the future.
