Tyshawn Jones is a professional skateboarder and modern streetwear legend. Born on Christmas Eve 1998 in Manhattan, he grew up in New Jersey before moving to the Bronx. At the age of 10, Jones began playing the video game Skate with his family and became obsessed with skateboarding. As his skills progressed, Jones began to work up the NYC skate ranks and met Jason Dill, the founder of legendary skateboarding brand Fucking Awesome (FA). Dill liked Jones’s style and decided to sponsor him, making Jones a professional skateboarder in 2011.
Through his connection with FA, Jones garnered the attention of Ty Lyons and Supreme, who saw Jones as everything Supreme was made to represent: a New York native street skater. He would go on to be featured in the legendary 2014 Supreme skate video, “Cherry.”
As the years rolled on, Jones did nothing but continue to cement himself in the city’s skate scene. He modeled for Supreme for over a decade and became a primary face of the brand, achieving an undeniable legacy in the scene that many work hard to even catch a glimpse of.
Jones has often been seen adorned in loud, flashy Supreme pieces worth an arm and a leg, throwing himself down stairs and treating the garments as they were intended – for skating.
Jones is known for his effortless streetwear style as well as his ability to mix high-end pieces with his streetwear roots. Often seen with his trademark black silk durag, his stylish aura is something that only one so deeply rooted in skate culture could attain.
