Our Favorite Sex and the City Looks

By Bella Duncan

On this day in 1998, Sex and the City gave the world one of the most stylish casts in television. This is still true 26 years after its premiere, and with its recent addition to Netflix, it is sure to inspire a new generation of viewers in finding their personal style.

The tutu donned by Carrie Bradshaw in the credits sequence proved so iconic that it sold for $52,000 - over 10,000 times its original price of five dollars - at auction in January 2024.

Charlotte York’s preppy pink shearling jacket from season five is still in style and can even be recreated with this Revolve jacket

Samantha Jones’ aquamarine slip dress from season three is the perfect party attire in any decade.

York’s tailored black mock-neck was a clean girl staple ahead of its time.

Miranda Hobbes had corporate chic down to a science in this collared black dress from season three.

Bradshaw’s little gray dress appears for only a few seconds in season 2, yet has since garnered tens of thousands of saves on Pinterest with fashion lovers trying to emulate its effortless appeal.

Though not one of the show’s leading ladies, Stanford Blatch has many unforgettable outfits including this coordinated red and yellow ensemble seen in season four.

The iconic outfits of Sex and the City are simply never-ending. Its Netflix reprisal is the gift that keeps on giving. Give it a watch (or rewatch) on Netflix for fashion inspiration.
