9 Must-Have Winter Accessories

9 Must-Have Winter Accessories

By: Sheridan Mark

The countdown to the deep winter months is on, and it is important to be prepared. However, typical winter accessories can feel drab and a little bit outdated. Do not worry. We have prepared a list of nine must-have winter accessories to add a little spice to your winter wardrobe.

1 Multi-Colored Chunky Scarves

When the temperature drops, the easiest thing to throw on is a chunky scarf. They can also serve as a wrap and are a great transition piece from inside to outside.

2 Mittens

Mittens are a fun way to keep your hands warm. If warmth is a necessity, go for a wool or wool blend mittens, which are known to be super well insulated. If you are not as picky about function but are swayed by style, there are plenty of pretty styles and fun colors to choose from.

3 Faux Fur Hats

While it has never really gone out of style, faux fur is back this autumn/winter season in new ways that are going to make your outfits pop and look that much chicer. There is no denying that faux fur just looks luxurious, and gives clothing, accessories, and shoes a more elevated effect – while being cruelty-free!

4 Ear Muffs

If hats are not the winter accessory you are keen on to keep your ears warm, opt for ear muffs that also get the job done. A plus to this option is that your hair will not suffer from being crunched under anything but a slim headband.

5 Patterned Tights

To spice up your winter looks, patterned tights can add an extra layer of dimension and also warmth. Contrasting stitching and colors can brighten up any outfit and turn a basic winter dress into a full holiday look.

6 Leg Warmers

Leg warmers may, right off the bat, scream 80s jazzercise, but there are fun ways to incorporate this throwback accessory into your winter style without actually throwing back any workout moves. Consider adding neutral-colored leg warmers over leggings or jeans and over tights with a mini skirt paired with a chunky boot.

7 Balaclavas

A balaclava is a piece of winter headgear that protects the head and face while leaving the mouth, eyes, and nose exposed. Recently, balaclavas are being created in new fun colors and patterns to add spice to a cozy classic.

8 Sunglasses

Colored sunglasses lenses don’t exist only to make a fashion statement; they actually help filter light away from your eyes. But, depending on the lens color, they do so in different ways. In the dark winter months, opt for a bright lens to cut the glare and compliment your outfit.

9 Tote Bags

A tote bag is a necessity to carry all those winter essentials. Even if you aren’t cold now, what if you might be later? Large tote bags are perfect to throw a pair of mittens and a hat in. And, there’s plenty of room for your wallet, chapstick, and all your receipts.

By incorporating any of these nine options into your winter wardrobe, you are in for an automatic upgrade that will help your style stay fresh through the winter season.
