The style on Madrid, Spain’s streets is equally as fabulous as the grand architectural features that decorate the buildings. While the city may be centuries old, the style is most certainly up to date as fashionable Madrilenians set the bar high with stately outfits for the most basic outings.

A combination of 1990s bohemian and Parisian sophistication come together to create effortlessly stylish looks that are deceivingly comfortable and easy to put together yourself.

The current winter climate calls for layering with turtlenecks and sweaters underneath houndstooth, leather, or Prince of Wales blazers. Long, wool coats in camel, tan, cream, or black are standard alongside other variations of fur. The coats effortlessly drape over a pair of wide-leg denim jeans or flared pants in white or cream. Accessorizing with draping scarves, chunky sneakers or boots, and a crossbody bag, this winter-time look provides for an easy transition depending on the weather’s daily mood swings.

Athleisure is not a common sighting on the streets of Madrid; however, when leggings are apparent, they are seemingly disguised by a long trench, crew socks, and trainers.

It is entirely possible to attain a version of the current trends at high and low-end price points, allowing all Madrilenians to participate in a collective fashion movement.
